Fallujah Uncensored: Operation Al-Fajr (Operation Phantom Fury)Fallujah Uncensored: Operation Al-Fajr (Operation Phantom Fury)

This video includes 3 hours of uncensored film footage of Marines fighting their way house-to-house through the streets of Fallujah. All the film footage was shot by USMC combat camera from November 7th through December 30th 2004. The Second Battle of Fallujah (code-named Operation Al-Fajr - "The Dawn" in Arabic, and Operation Phantom Fury) was a joint U.S.-Iraqi offensive led by the U.S. Marine Corps against the Iraqi insurgency stronghold in the city of Fallujah. The U.S. military called it "some of the heaviest urban combat U.S. Marines have been involved in since the Battle of Hue City in Vietnam." Please note! The violence and language in this video is graphic.

NIKE Missile 1950s And 1960sNIKE Missile 1950s And 1960s

This video provides an overview of the NIKE missile program in the 1950s & 1960s. The video is divided into four parts. Part One opens in 1944 with the V-1 rocket and subsequent development of 90mm gun and electronic system used to counter the German rockets. The film details the development of the NIKE Ajax for conventional aircraft followed by the NIKE Hercules for supersonic aircraft. Part Two is titled "Steel Ring" with scenes of 36th AAA Missile Battalion with Nike guided surface-to-air missile (SAM), as well as the Army's 120mm guns. Part Three focuses on the 75th Antiaircraft Artillery Missile Battalion located in the town of Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Part Four, titled "The Inner Ring," depicts how an enemy attack on the United States would be defended by an array of aircraft and missiles, including the NIKE.

F-14 Tomcat And Navy Fighter Weapons School F-14 Tomcat And Navy Fighter Weapons School "Top Gun," at NAS Miramar"

This video contains several films. The first film, produced in the 1970s, provides an overview of the early days of the Navy's Top Gun school at Miramar, California. It documents the five weeks of training F-14 pilots received. Includes classroom scenes and excellent scenes of F-14s in training combat missions against T-38 Talons and F-5E Tigers. The second film, No Points For Second Place, documents the role of the Grumman F-14 Tomcat as the Navy's premiere fighter plane, which - at that time - was being promoted as a countermeasure to the Soviet Union's advances in fighter technology. Includes excellent footage of the F-14 in action, as well as interviews with Tomcat pilots. Most of the ground scenes were filmed at NAS Miramar and the air se quences were shot over the California desert. The third film, F-14 Air Combat Maneuvering was filmed at Miramar and looks at the F-14's overall capabilities in combat. The fourth film, F-14: One of a Kind, focuses on Tomcat's weapons systems incl uding the Phoenix, Sparrow and Sidewinder missiles and its gatling guns. The fifth film, Day in a Squadron, documents the routine activities of Tomcat squadron VF-124, based at Miramar in the 1970s. The last part of this video documents the last day of the Top Gun school at Miramar. Includes F-14s taking off from Miramar on their way to their new home in Fallon, Nevada.

Fallout TacticsFallout Tactics

The Fallout series of role-playing games is known for its epic post-apocalyptic story line and deep combat system, in that order. Fallout Tactics turns the tables by focusing almost exclusively on a series of complex missions that are loosely wrapped in a plot. The focus is on combat, but Fallout Tactics stays true to its RPG roots.

You create your own character with the RPG system from the previous Fallout games. The basics should be familiar to RPG fans: assign numbers to attributes, such as strength, perception, and dexterity, which help determine values for skills such as medic, sneak, repair, and big guns. Fun quirks such as fast shot, finesse, and bloody mess make your character unique. Once your character is complete, you're assigned your first mission. There's no need for a strong, personal plot device to get the game going: you're in the army now.

Instead of the one-man-against-the-wasteland story of Fallout and Fallout 2, Tactics sets you up as a junior squad leader in an expeditionary force of the Brotherhood of Steel. The Brotherhood is a no-nonsense group of soldiers that has managed to thrive in the nuked American landscape by maintaining strict control over its technological superiority. Your group split off from the main group and headed east in huge dirigibles, only to crash-land near Chicago. Trading technology and protection for food and recruits, the Brotherhood soon finds itself taking on the role of feudal overlord. You and your squad tackle increasingly difficult missions for the Brotherhood. Each successful mission lets you improve your character and squadmates by way of accumulated experience, weapons, equipment, and vehicles.

The word "tactics" didn't get into the title of this game by mistake. Characters can sneak into position, lay down covering fire, set up ambushes, lie prone in a sniper hide, and do just about anything else a real soldier can do. You'll need to use these abilities in order to complete the game's tough single-player campaign, or against human squad leaders in the included multiplayer mode. You can set the game to play in the strict turn-based mode familiar to Fallout veterans, or can play in "continuous turn-based," which is essentially the real-time strategy mode seen in games such as Baldur's Gate. The developers should get a medal for allowing gamers to switch between turn-based and real-time anytime.

Between battles, your characters wander the wasteland in search of quests, barter for items, and interact with nonplayer characters whose reactions depend on the squad's reputation. It's enough to keep role-playing aficionados entertained, and action fans won't want to miss it. Note that Fallout Tactics is just as profane and violent as the other games in the series, and isn't for kids. --T. Byrl Baker

Pros: Crisp graphics with great animation A truly beautiful combat system A decent story links the missions together and lets players get to know their characters Cons: Very challenging Plot is nowhere near as complex as those in Fallout and Fallout 2.

No One Lives Forever (Mac)No One Lives Forever (Mac)

No One Lives Forever is an outstanding action-adventure game that combines the campy 1960s-style spy-spoof story lines of the Austin Powers movies with the best single-player gameplay we've experienced since Half-Life. Clever, funny, and stylish aren't words normally associated with first-person shooters, but NOLF is anything but normal.

Assuming the role of sexy UNITY operative Cate Archer, you must complete 15 enormous and distinct missions to keep the world safe from H.A.R.M., a nefarious organization rife with colorful arch-villains. In true Hollywood style, the game is laced with cutscenes that set the stage for your missions and advance the plot by showing H.A.R.M. higher-ups boasting about their evil plans. The dialogue in both the cutscenes and the in-game action sequences is witty and genuinely funny, and the voice acting is excellent. We found ourselves hiding in dark corners just so we could eavesdrop on the bad guys.

The comic antics end abruptly when enemies catch wind of your presence. Whether they stumble across a body you carelessly left in your wake, hear you creeping about, respond to a tripped alarm, or simply see you, these foes are all business. They will stalk you, duck behind cover, and call for reinforcements. All the action is straight from a spy movie: shoot a guy on a balcony, and he'll tumble over the rail and fall to the ground. Fire a gun underwater, and you'll see the spiral trail of the bullet.

Most missions can be approached in a variety of ways, and although full-frontal assaults are possible, stealthy progression is usually better for your health. Being a superspy, you'll have plenty of gadgets to help you along the way, from a lock-pick barrette to a robotic poodle capable of turning even the most ferocious attack dog into man's best friend. Players who like to send a more direct message will enjoy playing with the game's full assortment of firearms, including Bond-worthy silencer pistols and briefcase rocket launchers.

The quality of AI and inventiveness of the single-player missions are fortunate because the multiplayer component doesn't compare to Unreal Tournament or Counter-Strike. Regardless, No One Lives Forever should be on the short list of any fan of first-person shooters looking for an unbeatable solo experience. --T. Byrl Baker

Pros: Multiple approaches to nearly every level add to the replay value Loads of atmosphere Contains some of the most unorthodox and enjoyable missions we've ever played Amazing detail Smart and funny Cons: Not the prettiest 3-D engine on the market
